This is a beautiful picture and a beautiful family, that might just end up in the White House. With Barack Obama as one of the most liberal Senators in the United States, he won't be getting my vote.
I think it was Sasha who yelled to her dad on the big screen "What city are you in Daddy?" How cute and what fun! Let's pray for all our candidates during this election cycle. Richard Dalton
That August day in Washington D.C., Peter, Paul and Mary sang prior to Rev. King's speech, I could not find a video of their performance but this "If I had a Hammer Song" was also filmed in 1963. That was the song they sang that day, I was a folk music fan (12 years old) back then and still am.
I hope that many in the Anglican Community will enjoy these pictures. Most all of them that I took were without a flash, which has its drawbacks, but in gathering times, I like to avoid the distractibility.
I was very thankful to find a superb photographer; Judy Baird from St. Andrews Anglican Church in Columbus, Ohio who was most willing to contribute her photos to this collection. The CANA Council (Convocation of Anglicans in North America) took place beginning Thursday, August 21 and ending on the 23rd. At was a wonderful time with some wonderful people, one unique aspect of this wing of North American Anglicanism is the representation of many Nigerian church congregations in the U.S. Although CANA is a young organization, I see many hearts and hands being joined together for the cause of Christ and his kingdom.
I wish you could've been with us as we heard Bishop Martyn Minns speak about the future of the Anglican Church and the call of Christ to be faithful and fruitful. I was taking regular pictures throughout the gathering of Anglicans in Akron, Ohio, but the bishop's Saturday morning message was so inspiring and clear, I had to switch my camera to the video mode to capture some of it. The video will not be high-quality sound but thought I'd like to share it anyway. - Father Dalton
This is a picture of the gathering in Akron, Ohio of the Convocation of Anglicans in North America (CANA). Believers from across the country and a good representation traveling from Nigeria gathered to worship and work together. More pictures of the events will be forthcoming at FatherDalton.com . - Father Richard Dalton, Metro Detroit
