Target Group of Ministry: Homeless men and women in Detroit

Current Needs: Volunteers and donations are always a need. Specific donation needs include men's clothing, food, bedding, hygiene kits, eating utensils; household refrigerators, bookcases, lamps, dressers, nightstands, twin beds and other furniture; gardening equipment, snow blowers; paper, envelopes, printing services and, of course, financial support. Volunteers are needed for computer training, computer equipment repair and building and grounds maintenance.

Future: Continued work for holistic approach to problems of homelessness and substance abuse. Licensed as a residential and outpatient treatment center through the Office of Substance Abuse Services for the State of Michigan Department of Public Health and accredited by the Commission for the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), Mariner's Inn has seen lasting results. Nearly half of their staff people are themselves Mariner's Inn alumni!
