- Wednesday WHY ??? - Intellectually Disciplined, Fact-Based Refutation of Recent "New Atheist" Bestsellers
Dinesh D'Souza's "What's So Great About Christianity" is an intellectually disciplined, fact-based refutation of recent "New Atheist" bestsellers including Christopher Hitchens' "God Is Not Great," Richard Dawkins' "The God Delusion," and Sam Harris' "Letter to a Christian Nation." The great advantage that D'Souza's book holds over its opponents': while New Atheist bestsellers rely for their power on sarcasm, insult, contempt, and arrogance, D'Souza's book relies on facts, logic and research. - Listen to Theresa Dalton and Ann Strubler on

Theresa sang many of her original songs and Ann Strubler a dear friend and violinist with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra came, adding some violin to many of those songs. We finally have the CD in hand from those recordings.

- Theresa Dalton and Ann Strubler
these two ladies make beautiful music togetherWe had a wonderful time a few weeks ago in a recording studio. Theresa sang many of her original songs and later, Ann Strubler a dear friend and violinist with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra came, adding some violin to many of those songs. Out of that, we plan to soon have a CD of Theresa's songs available. I think it's going to be a real gem. She also did a traditional folk song "Shenandoah" which we will not include on the coming CD.
Here is the song for you to hear. ENJOY ! (…)

- I never read her Dracula books but her novel;
Christ the Lord - out of Egypt
is a worthwhile readThis is a very interesting interview from the White Horse Inn, with Ann Rice an nationally known author and newly found woman of faith with interesting insights into the Biblical text. She had a powerful conversion and has dedicated her writing skills to higher purpose. In this interview she has much to say about supposed modern scholarship around the scriptural material and text. - Rosie O'Donnell, Barbara Walters and a flashback of
Gilda Radner's Impression of Baba WawaFun is fun, but Rosie O'Donnell isn't funny anymore. I never was a big fan of Rosie, but she's in the news again this week with comments from her book about Barbara Walters. She's not too flattering or complementary toward her former colleague and boss on the View; a daytime women's coffee clutch aired on ABC. She basically is saying Barbara Walters is too old and should give up her life in broadcasting. (…)

- Recommended Book - Treasures and Lessons
on Pastoral Ministry from the Historic ChurchThis is a must read for those in any Pastoral Ministry:
In today's Church, there often appears to be a conflict between those who are doctrinally strong and those who "care about people." Thomas Oden does an excellent service by showing that a Christian (especially a Pastor or Pastoral Counselor) can and should use the resources of the Christian tradition as a tool of compassionate ministry. - Peter Kreeft - Pro-Life Philosophy
The subject of abortion in the United States is an emotionally charged one, and most often fought on the level of platitudes and placards. Whether pro-abortion or anti-abortion, I think we would all do well to get beyond the bumper stickers and the insulting signs, and enter into reasonable discussion regarding this personal, public and political issue.
Peter Kreeft does a good job of presenting a pro-life / anti-abortion philosophy with a very reasoned and thought out approach. As a young voter (1972) I remember voting in a Michigan referendum regarding the legalization of abortion, although Michigan citizens voted against its legalization, the Supreme Court (1973) a few months later, legalized abortion nationwide apart from wide public discourse or political consensus. In this talk, he will discuss the ethical issues aside from religious considerations.
I think listening to this presentation would be time well spent.
