Target Group(s) of Ministry: Children waiting for adoption
Current Needs: People to give just a few hours here or there. Do one of several things:
- Part-time secretarial duties
- Help write for grant programs
- Take minutes at monthly meetings
- Make data entries
- Help keep the financial records
- Help with the newsletter
- Assist with the Adoption Festival, October 14, 2007 on Belle Isle
- Address birthday cards to the children
- Write thank you notes
- Handle mail merge
- Stuff envelopes
- Help keep storage facility in order
- Organize birthday parties, bowling parties, hayrides
- Assemble "Love Packs" and "Aging Out" suitcases
- Pick up bears and other stuffed animals in your neighborhood
- Sort and re-bag stuffed animals, etc.
- Pick up suitcases or backpacks and Aging Out items
- Some "Gofers" who can just be and do
- Run errands
Future: Expanding the Aging Out program which helps children as they age out of the state's foster care system. Teaching educators, medical people, police, judges, attorneys, social workers, foster parents and those who are considering becoming foster parents, just what child abuse looks like through the eyes of the abused child.
