In April 1997 Abigayle Ministries was formed to offer hopeful assistance to single, homeless, pregnant women. Based in Sterling Heights, the ministry has grown into three avenues of support — a residential program, a transitional housing program and a pregnancy care center.

The residential program provides a place to live and be nurtured for six pregnant women over 18 years of age. While living with the program they are mentored, cared for, educated in GED or job training and they participate in Bible study.

The transitional housing is a place for mothers to live more independently while still connected with the ministry.

Abby's Pregnancy Care Center is an outreach to the community which provides material assistance to mothers and their children. Women are invited to attend classes and Bible studies through the Center.

Abigayle Ministries has seen over 100 babies born whose mothers resided with them.

Target Group(s) of Ministry: Young mothers and their children

Current Needs: Volunteers can help the ministry in several ways such as organizing clothing and material items; working with the fundraising committee to plan events; becoming a church liaison; working in the office answering phones and performing secretarial duties.

Future: Abby's Pregnancy Care Center and the transitional home are relatively new additions to the ministry. Continue seeking ways to most effectively support pregnant women in need and their children.
