To Tell the Truth: Will the Real Jesus Please Stand Up
Every person has an opinion on who Jesus really is—some say he is a prophet, some say he is a social revolutionary, some say he is a myth, some say he is God, still others a lunatic. All religions have their answer about who Jesus really is and books have multiplied throughout the ages to present their case about his real identity and meaning for our times. Many groups or organizations claim Jesus has supported their views or even looks like them, e.g. Country-Western singer Alan Jackson’s song proclaims: “If Jesus walked the world today, he’d probably be a hillbilly.”
They cannot all be true, so an Apologetics (defense of the faith) Conference will be held on Friday, October 16th from 7 to 9pm to explore these alternatives and defend the Biblical position supported by historical evidence at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Dearborn, Michigan. An entertaining format will be utilized, that of the classic TV show To Tell the Truth. Five men will claim to be the real Jesus, and then will be questioned by a panel.
All attending will have the opportunity at the end of this questioning to vote for which of the five is the real Jesus, who will then stand up. Each imposter will then identify which alternative belief about Jesus he represented and why they believe it is incorrect. Time will allow for questions and answers.
Admission is free and more information and a downloadable brochure may be obtained at
