Barnstorming with Nine Harpists
You really had to be there on Saturday night; I can share some pictures but the music was so marvelous, and I can't relate that experience.
In the setting of an old barn, a simple stage was adorned with nine beautifully crafted harps, big and small. Even before the music started we knew we were in for something very special. The evening began with three young violinists, called The Three Crowns Trio, sisters playing classical music together, and also giving individual performances. Later, premier musician and harpist Kerstin Allvin delighted us with a wonderful variety of classical and some contemporary offerings. Astoundingly, we also were treated to an ensemble of eight of her students, performing together, directed by Kerstin, who wound up the musical evening for us in great fashion. The sight was wonderful and the sounds, even better.
Heaven has Harps ??? I hope so ! !
We had a delightful, enchanting evening, a sincere thank you to Dave, Ann, three young violinists, Kerstin, and the collection of wonderful student harpists. The cookies and the crowd were good also.
Enjoy the pictures by click for a slide show. You can sample some of Kerstin's music by clicking here.
