A Matter of History or Faith?

What can we know about Jesus Christ from history? Can the Gospels be considered historical documents? Is Christianity based on fact or faith?

I think many people would find this radio program very interesting. The Arts and Entertainment Network and the Discovery Channel are highlighted with their various “biblical scholars”. I've heard a number of people quoting snippets from their various broadcasts, assuming that top-notch biblical scholars appearing on National TV could hardly be mistaken. I can pretty well guarantee that a major part of biblical education for American young people is coming from the boob tube.
