Monday Night at Rochester College
Last Sunday night for some reason I was thinking about Rochester College, which is a Christian school within 2 miles of my house. A few months back, I was invited to speak at their chapel service, and Sunday I was thinking about perhaps knocking on the door of some of the students to get some web help from someone, more savvy than I. Interestingly, the next day I was sent an e-mail from a dear friend Pastor Rufus Harris informing me that he was going to be in a group discussion at Rochester College that evening. He asked for prayers for the event and also inquired if I would like to attend.
The group discussion on Big Church / Small Church was interesting, but the best part of the evening for me was talking to some of the students afterward. I was also invited into the café for a hot chocolate and to join in some student discussion as kind of an afterglow event where students could share their thoughts with each other. I was the old man in the group, but found their concerns about the state of church and their call to Christian discipleship both interesting and encouraging. I think these are folks that want to impact the world for Christ and I wish you could have heard that discussion. Please pray that God will use these young people mightily and for God's blessing on this Christian College.
I am reminded of a post I put up months ago, an audio discussion of Twenty Somethings on Church CLICK HERE
