Father Richard Travels with His Personal Assistant

The day after Thanksgiving I was caught up with other shoppers with an early-morning trip to OfficeMax. They had some camera memory chips that were priced very attractively so I arrived a little after seven o'clock to get in on prices that were available for only a few hours.   I walked out with a few extra items besides the memory chips.

One of the items was a G. P. S. (Global Positioning System) for a car.

Without even looking at the instruction book and was able to program in an address and the global positioning system mapped it out on its display screen and verbally instructed me when and where to turn to get there.   I was amazed that the technology and I knew it would be helpful both an unfamiliar urban areas and also in rural communities.

I just returned last night back from a trip to the Washington, DC area, and I have to tell you, I'm a big fan of this small item, I bought on sale.   It's astounding in terms of the maps and information it delivers at just the right time and makes navigating and traveling so easy. It links up with several satellites to track the street you are on and the street you are headed for.  There is no monthly cost once you buy the unit itself.  It 's a great item that is easily moved from car to car, so that when another family member takes a trip or is going into unfamiliar territory, they can also utilize the services of this wonderful personal navigation assistant.
