12-year-old “Financial Guru” John-Paul Pigeon to do Book Signing
in Lexington, Michigan

When ten-year-old John-Paul Pigeon moved from Lexington, Michigan to Fort Worth, Texas, his family and friends could not have guessed what would follow in less than three years. He would return to do a local book signing, having developed a national reputation as one of the youngest financial wizards in the United States. His interest in finances started at the age of seven when he mistakenly picked up a book titled Rich Dad, Poor Dad, by Robert Kiyyosaki, thinking it was a novel. A whole new world of business, investing and accounting opened up to him. After reading his favorite book Own Your Own Corporation by Garrett Sutton, John-Paul started his first entrepreneurial venture as a lemonade stand owner. A year later he incorporated his first business, John-Paul International, LLC.
Later, John-Paul and his younger brother, Sean-Michael, invested their lemonade stand proceeds in the electricity industry. With this investment, John-Paul got his first taste of passive income and life seemed wonderful; until he read the Chicago Fed Letter of 1999 and became concerned about the Social Security System and the financial future and education of his generation. Top that off with the national trade deficit and he was ready to launch a crusade impassioned by the need for young people to take ownership of their financial futures.
His various appearances, radio interviews, TV news spots and personal blog can be found on the Internet by googling John Paul Pigeon. John-Paul, the eldest son of Rev. Darryl Pigeon and his wife, Cynthia, will be hosting a book-signing event from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31. He will be speaking about finances for young people and the book he authored entitled, "John-Paul's Secret Recipe". The book features John-Paul and Sean-Michael as characters in a story that teaches children how to earn money, and how to make that money work for them. He wrote it in recognition of the lack of financial education for young people. The goal of the book is to teach the basic concept of finances and cash flow to young people starting as young as age three. Says John-Paul, "I want you and myself, my little brother, and children and youth all over the world to believe that they too can be successful, both personally and financially."
This is a free event open to kids and adults, will be held at the Chapel of Christ the King Anglican Church at 6513 Lakeshore / M25, the Chapel adjoins Bush’s Restaurant, at the northwest entrance. For more information call 810-359-5517.
